I was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and moved to Cromer on the Norfolk coast, age 18. My work has ranged from sewing buttons on cardigans to working as a lab technician in an all-girls school. After gaining a BSc (Hons) with the Open University I settled to teach Environmental Studies at outdoor centres in Norfolk.

I have three Diplomas in Creative Writing (poetry, adv. fiction and adv. poetry with distinction) and a PGC (first) in Poetry with the University of East Anglia.
